Sheryl Crow and a cappella group Take 6 will be performing a free concert in Cottage Grove this holiday season as part of a cross-country fundraiser for food shelves.
The stop is part of the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train tour and will benefit the Friends in Need Food Shelf. According to organizers, the Friends in Need Food Shelf serves about 38,000 people a year in South Washington County.
Along with the concert, there will be family activities, ice carving, hot chocolate and a chance to meet Santa.
The event takes place at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the CP Yard, 9250 Ideal Ave. The event is free, but attendees are encouraged to make a donation to the food shelf.
Because there’s no parking at the Holiday Train site, attendees will need to take a free shuttle. For more information about shuttle service, visit www.cottage-grove.org. For more information about the Holiday Train tour, visit www.cpr.ca.
