This week Disney Interactive released five of their newest characters for “Disney Infinity.”
Fans of “Disney Infinity” are really going to enjoy playing with Rapunzel, Wreck-It Ralph, Vanellope, and Anna and Elsa from Disney’s upcoming film “Frozen.”
The figures look amazing and are very detailed. I also really like how each figure is mounted on a base that represents something from their film. For example, Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope are standing on a candy-coated base and Anna and Elsa are standing on a base that is covered in ice, and it has a large snowflake on top.
The figures can all be played in the “Disney Infinity” Toy Box alongside all of the other amazing figures from “Toy Story,” “Cars,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Monsters Inc.,” “The Lone Ranger,” and “The Incredibles.”
Each character has unique powers and its own special attack while you are playing in the toy box. I was really impressed by how accurate their characteristics were from the movie. When you put the character on the base, they all have their own phrase they say, and I believe it’s actually the voice of the actor who did their voice in the film.
My two favorite characters were Wreck-It Ralph and Anna because I thought their special attacks were really cool. Wreck-It Ralph throws cherry bombs and when they hit the ground or target they explode and the explosion looks like it was from an old school 8-bit game. Ralph’s other attack is really powerful; he runs and pounds the ground with his fists, and he destroys everything in his path. I just love the sound effect while he is doing it. The sound effects sound like they are also from an 8-bit game.
Anna was my other favorite character because of her special attacks. She has a grappling hook that she uses to attack enemies. Plus she can use the hook to pull herself up to areas that are really high, up or if she needs to get away from an enemy, she can hook it onto a nearby object and pull herself toward it.
The other characters also have neat attacks, but Wreck-It Ralph and Anna’s were the two that really stood out. Elsa from “Frozen” can freeze enemies and things with her ice powers. She can throw snowballs and freeze things by touching them. Rapunzel can throw frying pans, and Vanellope has a glitch spin where she can avoid attacks. I really thought it was cool how each character’s power was from their movie, and they made sense. In “Wreck-It Ralph” Vanellope was a glitch in a game so her power was the glitch spin. I know fans of the Disney films are really going to appreciate this.
One really cool thing is that there are two power discs that are packaged with Anna and Elsa in the “Frozen Toy Box” pack. The power discs change the theme of your Toy Box to a “Frozen” themed. Everything is covered in snow, and the background has a really nice wintery look with snow-covered mountains and trees. I really thought it was neat and looked great.
On Nov. 26, Disney Interactive will also be releasing the “Anna and Elsa Frozen Toy Box Pack” along with the second series of power discs. There will be twenty new discs in the set that can be used in the toy box and also in the playsets.
Wreck-It Ralph and Rapunzel are available now and will each be sold exclusively at certain retail stores. Wreck-It Ralph will be available only at Best Buy, Rapunzel will be available at Wal-Mart and Vanellope will be available at Target on Nov. 26.
I really think that Disney Interactive’s latest collections of figures for “Disney Infinity” are really awesome. They are very well designed and are very detailed. I also think that the character’s special powers make playing “Disney Infinity” really fun and really add to the game. I know that fans of “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Rapunzel” are really going to have a lot of fun playing as their favorite characters. My daughters were really excited that they could play as Rapunzel, and it was nice to see that there is finally a Disney Princess.
I would highly recommend that you check out the latest figures for “Disney Infinity” and I cannot wait to see which Disney characters will be released next.
