SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Mike Rupp from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and placed forward Torrey Mitchell on Injured Reserve.
Rupp, 33 (1/13/80), was assigned to Iowa on a conditioning loan Nov. 12 and skated in five AHL games with the Wild registering five shots. He was designated Injured, Non-Roster on Sept. 30 with a lower-body injury and has not appeared in a NHL game this season. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound native of Cleveland, Ohio, collected four points (1-3=4), a plus-1 rating and 67 penalty minutes (PIM) in 32 games with Minnesota last season. He also skated in four playoff games with the Wild. Rupp owns 98 points (54-44=98) and 832 PIM in 597 career NHL games with New Jersey, Phoenix, Columbus, Pittsburgh, the New York Rangers and Minnesota. Rupp was acquired by the Wild from the Rangers on Feb. 4, 2013 in exchange for Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri.
Mitchell, 28 (1/30/85), has collected four points (1-3=4) in 22 games with Minnesota this season and has missed the team’s last two games with a lower-body injury.
