Gophers Cruise Past Loyola

The Golden Gophers women's basketball team was hot from behind the arc early on Tuesday night, defeating Loyola 80-36 at Williams Arena.

Shayne Mullaney, Sari Noga and Rachel Banham all hit 3-pointers to give Minnesota an early 9-2 lead. The Gophers led 19-4 midway through the first half.

Banham led the Gophers with 17 points, but Stabresa McDaniel and Kayla Hirt also played well, scoring 14 points each.

Minnesota will now head to Honolulu for the Wai ki ki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown starting Friday. The Gophers will face Chattanooga, Colorado State, and Hawaii over the weekend.
