Now is the time of year when Minnesotans are enrolling in health care plans for the coming year, and some are sorting through a variety of health care plans for the first time since it will be required by federal law next year.
Angie Hicks, founder of Angie's list, recommended a few big things to consider while searching. First, find out if your doctor will continue to accept your new insurance plan. Hicks also said a big mistake people make is not knowing what kind of coverage they need, and recommended assessing what kind of health needs you have.
Hicks also said you could hire a broker to help you choose a plan that's best for you. In most cases it's a free service that insurance companies pay for.
