The latest design plans were unveiled Thursday for the new ballpark for the St. Paul Saints.
The Lowertown Ballpark project team showed the most recent design renderings and gave an update on demolition in the Diamond Products building area where the stadium will go.
It includes several architectural elements you'll find all over, including blackened steel and exposed timber. The playing field and seating area will be located slightly below street level.
The St. Paul Saints said they're thrilled with the new designs.
Work on the Saints’ new home in the Lowertown area got under way this summer. Demolition is almost finished and just one wall of the old Diamond Products remains.
The ballpark is scheduled to open in 2015.
St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, Ryan Companies Representative Mark Maghrak, Julie Snow of Julie Snow Architects, and St. Paul Saints Representative Annie Huidekoper were all in attendance.
