The 2014 St. Paul Winter Carnival button collection was unveiled Saturday morning by members of the Winter Carnival Royal Family.
The event took place at Dixie’s on Grand in St. Paul as part of the annual Grand Meander celebration.
The buttons were designed by Chad Peterson, a local freelance artist and longtime Winter Carnival Ice Carving Contest competitor.
Peterson has both placed and won several competitions in the team and individual categories.
The four button images depict members of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival Royal Family: King Boreas, Aurora Queen of the Snows, Vulcanus Rex and Klondike Kate.
The 2014 Winter Carnival buttons will be available at Super America and other area retailers. They will also be available on the Winter Carnival website. Prices will be $5 for one and $19 for the collector’s pack of all four images.
The 128th Saint Paul Winter Carnival will take place January 23 through February 2, 2014. The majority of events will be held in Downtown St. Paul, mostly in and around Landmark Center, Rice Park and the State Fairgrounds.
“The Coolest Celebration on Earth™” is managed by the Saint Paul Heritage and Festival Foundation.
