US Women's Olympic Hockey Camp Opens In Blaine

USA Hockey announced the schedule for the U.S. Women’s National Team training camp at the Schwan Super Rink at the National Sports Center (NSC) December 13-17. This is the team that will become the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team when the final roster is announced on January 1, 2014.

The team will host a meet-and-greet for fans Sunday, December 15th at the NSC in Blaine at 2:15.

All on-ice sessions are free and open to the public.

Here are the times when the team is training at the Super Rink:

The team includes five players with Minnesota ties:

Megan Bozek, Buffalo Grove, Ill., twice won national championships as a defenseman for the University of Minnesota.

Amanda Kessel, Madison, Wis., was a two-time national champion at the University of Minnesota, and she won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award in 2013.

Gigi Marvin, Warroad, Minn., played for the University of Minnesota from 2005 to 2008, and was a member of the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team.

Anne Schleper, St. Cloud, Minn., played for the University of Minnesota from 2008 to 2012, and was a member of three U.S. World Championship teams, in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Lee Stecklein, Roseville, Minn., finished her freshman year at the University of Minnesota where she won a national championship in 2013, and is on currently on leave from the Gophers to play with the U.S. National Team.
