Timberwolves star Kevin Love will be handing out coats to those in need as part of his sixth annual coat drive.
So far, more than 4,500 coats have been collected and will be donated to the Salvation Army. Some of the kids benefiting from the coat drive will be in attendance to meet Love, get his autograph and help unload the coats Tuesday.
Donations of new or gently-used winter coats will be accepted at the Target Center box office through Wednesday. Donors will get two tickets to a January Timberwolves game.
The Salvation Army will be using the coats from the drive at a Christmas Day giveaway at Harbor Light Shelter at 1010 Currie Ave., Minneapolis. It runs from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Families in need can call their local Salvation Army or find the closest service center by visiting salvationarmynorth.org.
