There's an improvement plan for a busy road in downtown Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County Board approved a plan for Washington Avenue between Hennepin and Fifth avenues.
The development will add more green space and connections to the Mississippi River as well as bike lanes connecting downtown to the University of Minnesota campus.
The plan now goes to the Minneapolis City Council for a final sign-off.
The board says this is on par with the Minneapolis Downtown Council's goals to double the downtown population from 35,000 residents to 70,000 by 2025.
