On the last shopping weekend before Christmas, Target is trying to get customers back in its stores after a massive security breach.
The retailer offered a 10 percent discount for customers on Saturday and Sunday. Target is also providing free credit monitoring services to anyone affected by the issue.
Target's CEO Gregg Steinhafel apologized Friday and said the company has fixed the problem. It is still not known how the breach, which affected 40 million customers, occurred.
Target said those customers will not be responsible for any charges they didn't make. The company also said customers should call 1-866-852-8680 if they see any unusual charges.
JPMorgan Chase is taking preemptive measures to ensure their customers are protected. On Saturday, nearly 2 million Chase debit card holders were notified that they will not be able to make more than $300 in purchases a day, or withdraw more than $100 a day, until their cards have been replaced.
