MNsure Site Vendor Has Controversial Past

MNsure's site has performed so poorly the enrollment deadline had to be extended recently.

Now the lead contractor on the site, Maximus, is facing increased scrutiny.

Among other services, Maximus has been paid millions of dollars for systems and security testing, a MNsure spokesperson tells KSTP.

However, DHS says user testing for public consumers was not performed ahead of the web site's launch.

A legislative audit will be performed in the coming weeks that examines the state's contract with Maximus.

Media reports indicate Maximus has been investigated in several states for technical issues or contract failures. Published reports also indicate Maximus agreed to pay a $30.5 million dollar settlement as a result of Medicaid fraud allegations in D.C.
