The holidays can be a difficult time for someone who has lost a spouse or significant other.

The Widows's Hope Foundation will host its annual New Year's Eve Benefit Gala to help those recovering form a loss.

HOPE14 was founded by Michele De Santis, who lost her husband in a bicycling accident three years ago.

The event will feature a midnight champagne toast, hor d'oveuvres, a 10-piece band and a live auction. Ticket prices are $100.

HOPE14 will be held at Spasso Resturant in Minnetonka on Dec. 31 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
