Minneapolis Police Investigate Robbery Spree

Minneapolis police are searching for the suspect involved in the armed robberies of five businesses Tuesday morning.

They happened between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in South Minneapolis. Police say the suspect appears to be the same for all five robberies.

One robbery was reported at Walgreens and four happened at SuperAmerica stores. The robberies were reported in this order:

According to police, the suspect is described as a heavy-set black man, 20 to 30 years old, dressed in all black with a black knit hat, and a black face mask covering the lower portion of his face. In at least two of the robberies he was wearing glasses.

The suspect showed a black semi-automatic handgun in each of the robberies. 

Police say the suspect stole cash and a small amount of narcotics was taken from the Walgreens on Hennepin.
