Cold Minn. Temps Lead to Booming Travel Business

Minnesota travel agents are seeing a boost in business because of the extremely cold weather.

Nora Blum from Travel Leaders in Blaine says business is up early this year because of the recent cold snap. People are booking vacations for as soon as this month, all the way to March.

"We have many clients coming in just asking to get out of the cold... they don't even care where they are going," Blum said.

One of the biggest trends seems to be all-inclusive vacations, according to Blum.

"Jamaica, The Dominican Republic, and Mexico all have really great all inclusive resorts. The packages include airfare, accommodations, all of your meals and drinks while you are there," she said.

Blum adds that being flexible with your travel dates can get you the most bang for your buck.

We checked out a few sites and found some deals for Minneapolis/St.Paul travelers:

Mazatlan $755 per person

Cancun $674 per person

Hawaii $1971.72 per person (one week)
