Anoka-Ramsey Community College actors are gearing up for the production of "Las Hermanas Padilla."

The show tells the story of 10 sisters-in-law who live in a remote part of Mexico and are waiting for their husbands to return home from war. The women bond and build a life together during the ordeal.

Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 and 17 at the Coon Rapids Campus Performing Arts Center.

Tickets cost $8 in advance at webs.AnokaRamsey.edu/theatre.

The show will then be performed at the Region 5 Kennedy Center festival in Lincoln, Neb., from Jan. 19-25. More than 84 colleges will be represented at the festival.

Proceeds from the Jan. 17 performance will help offset transportation costs to the festival.
