Some Osseo area schools are considering a boundary change proposal, which is intended to reduce overcrowding at Basswood Elementary.

Starting July 1, about 100 students would be assigned to Oak View Elementary instead of Basswood Elementary, if the plan is approved by the school board.

Oak View would serve students in grades K through six beginning the 2014-2015 school year.

School leaders say the school is overcrowded due to new development in the area and increased enrollment.

Some parents are not onboard with the plan and want more time to look at it and discuss options.

An information meeting for parents was held Tuesday, and another is set for Friday, Jan 17, from 8 to 9 a.m. in the school's media center.

A final vote is scheduled for Jan. 28 at the board's regular meeting.
