Green Bay Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy will replace Vikings star Adrian Peterson at the 2014 Pro Bowl. Lacy set franchise records this season for rushing yards, rushing TDs and attempts this season, the team said Wednesday.

“I was extremely excited to hear that I am getting to go to the Pro Bowl after my rookie season,” said Lacy. “I feel like it gives me a great opportunity to thank my teammates, especially the offensive line, and coaches, for working with me and helping me accomplish what I did on the field this year.”

Lacy will be the only Packers representative at the Pro Bowl on Jan. 26. The team said he is the first Green Bay rookie running back to be selected to the Pro Bowl since John Brockington in 1971 and the first Packers RB to be named to the all-star game since Ahman Green in 2004.

Peterson missed two of the final three games this season with a foot injury.
