Full interview transcript:
(Aaron)Tina can you tell me a little bit about you role at Infinity Ward?
(Tina)Sure, I was brought on during Modern Warfare 3 and I am the Community Manager here at IW. I have been here for the life of "Call of Duty Ghosts" from when we started developing it to launch. Usually what I do is help out with anything on Facebook for our studio such as updates, DLC, even interviews is part of my responsibility.
(Aaron)Can you tell me about Onslaught?
(Tina) Onslaught is our first DLC package from "Ghosts." It's hitting XBOX 360 and XBOX One on January 28th. It comes with four medium to small sized maps that include "Fog," "Bayview," "Containment," and "Ignition." We think that old COD fans are really going to like these maps, because not only is it new content but we also threw in a map that is a shout out to our fans of "MW2" days. Ignition is going to have a familiar feel to it. It's based on a scrap yard from "MW2." I think a lot of people are going to have a lot of fun with it. In addition to that we have the Maverick weapon that we are bringing as well. It can be used as an assault rifle or a sniper rifle depending on what you prefer. And on top of that we are bringing the first episode of our four part series to "Extinction" called "Nightfall." Not only are you going to be playing against aliens but there will also be a story to it too.
(Aaron) Are there going to be any new field orders or anything like we are going to see?
(Tina) We are going to bring field orders to each map. That's one of our main components to "Call of Duty: Ghosts" multiplayer. In "Fog" the field order is becoming Michael Myers and they are going to be wielding an ax and the "Halloween" music is going to be playing for everyone to let them know that you are there and then you can just hack/slash away.
(Josh) The Michael Myers field order will be specific to the new map "Fog."
(Aaron)How long did it take to develop the content for Onslaught?
(Tina) We started immediately after the game launched on the 5th. So it has been in development for quite some time. I mean we had to think of the concepts before the game shipped. It's all a matter of the designers shaping the geo of the maps, handing that off to environment art, who then has a lot of fun coming up with the theme or location for it and then we get the artists to make the characters and then we play test nonstop at work and that's the fun part for me. Then the maps evolve into what they are.
(Aaron) Are there any other projects/ DLC that Infinity Ward is working on that you can tell me about?
(Tina) We are starting to work on our ideas for DLC 2, so I can't reveal what those ideas are just yet but we have four DLC packs coming out for later this year.
(Aaron)Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this interview with me and I cannot wait to play "Onslaught."
(Tina) You're welcome, thanks.
