Minnesota is jumping into Super Bowl week with a major announcement.
On Monday morning, Gov. Mark Dayton will announce the state's bid to bring the Super Bowl back to Minnesota.
The NFL announced this fall that Minneapolis was one of the three finalists to host the Super Bowl in 2018. New Orleans and Indianapolis are the other two finalists.
Business and community leaders will join Gov. Dayton for the announcement.
The new stadium that will soon begin rising for the Vikings is key to the bid. Public money is paying about half of the billion-dollar replacement for the Metrodome.
The new stadium is due to open before the 2016 season
