The sunshine and clear skies will give way to increasing clouds as the day progresses, according to KSTP.com Meteorologist Ken Barlow.
Periods of light snow will arrive after midnight Friday, Ken said. An inch or so of snow is likely to fall by noon on Saturday, so expect some slick roads on Saturday morning.
We are gaining anywhere from two to three minutes of daylight everyday, Ken said. At this time, we are up to 10 hours and five minutes of light.
After another few cold days, that middle-of-the-week warm up will come next week with highs in the 20s, Ken said.
Friday's morning commute saw some slippery roads with the cold. A Wind Chill Advisory was in effect for much of the state, including the Twin Cities Metro, from midnight to 9 a.m. Friday.
