Criminal complaints show a man and woman who died in an officer-involved shooting on Highway 212 in Eden Prairie on Friday, were also suspects in an auto theft case in Rochester last month.

According to the criminal complaint, 34-year-old Dawn Pfister and 36-year-old Matthew Serbus stole car keys from a Rochester dealership. The dealership owner noticed the missing keys and called police.

Police arrested Serbus at the scene when he returned after hours. Police found Pfister at a Rochester hotel.

They say she admitted they planned to leave town in the stolen vehicle.

Both were facing theft charges.
