All-Star festivities this summer in Minneapolis will include a unique 5K run.

Major League Baseball and The Color Run will join together to host The Color Run MLB All-Star 5K presented by Nike on Sunday, July 13 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

The run will be the first of its kind, featuring an All-Star-themed course inside the fairgrounds and appearances by MLB legends, mascots and other special guests.

The 5K will be un-timed, and participants of all ages will be doused in a different color powder at each kilometer. Following the event, a festival including music, giveaways and contests will take place.

"The Color Run MLB All-Star 5k presented by Nike will give fans in the Twin Cities and across Minnesota a unique opportunity to participate in the All-Star festivities while raising awareness and money for the fight against cancer, a disease that has affected each of us," said Tim Brosnan of Major League Baseball.

"Previous All-Star races have been a fun experience for the participants giving fans lasting All-Star memories. The partnership with The Color Run will only enhance the experience for our All-Star guests."

Previous All-Star races have been held in St. Louis, Anaheim, Kansas City, and New York.

Minnesota Twins President Dave St. Peter said the event promises to be a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity for everyone involved.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for thousands of baseball fans across Twins Territory to be active participants in the 2014 All-Star Summer," he said.

The Color Run CEO Travis Snyder said the All-Star partnership will deliver new elements to an already memorable race.

MLB will make a contribution to three charities supporting cancer research and education - Stand Up to Cancer, Prostate Cancer Foundation, and Susan G. Komen. The Color Run will make a charitable donation at the completion of the registration process.

All participants will receive an event T-shirt, headband, bracelet and shoulder bag. More event registration information can be found at
