Two suspects are in custody after a home invasion in Elk River on Thursday morning.

According to the Elk River Police Department, officers responded to a report of a home invasion on the 18500 block of Quincy Court around 9:05 a.m.

Police say two suspects forced their way into the home and assaulted a husband and wife.

According to police, the wife was tied up, and the suspects forced the husband to leave the home with them. The suspects then left in a red Cadillac.

Officers found the husband, who was injured, outside of the home. An ambulance took him to a hospital.

Rogers police officers noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's Cadillac headed east on Interstate 94 from Highway 101.

Police say the vehicle made a U-turn and led police on a chase heading in the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of I-94.

The chase ended on County Road 81 when the suspect crashed at Brooklyn Lane in Rogers. Two suspects were taken into custody.

At this point, a motive for the home invasion is unclear.

The Elk River Police Department and Sherburne County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
