Forty-six couples are planning to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day in Minneapolis.

The couples will be married free of charge during the second annual event. It spotlights outreach to Hennepin County citizens about District Court, Taxpayer Services and the Government Center.

"As a court, we wanted to help celebrate the holiday in a unique way - and to help people easily remember their anniversaries in the future," Hennepin County District Court Judge William Koch said. "This was a fun event for us last year, and we expect it to be even better this year. Even if you just want to come and watch a special event, we invite you to come to the Government Center over the lunch hour."

Pre-ceremony check-in starts at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Hennepin County Government Center. The program starts at noon and wraps up around 1:30 p.m.
