Nicollet Mall will look different in a few years and the public had a chance to offer some of their suggestions on the redesign Wednesday.
James Corner Field Operations, which is leading the project, presented its first round of design ideas.
People could mark what they liked and what they didn't like.
There will be other chances for the public to weigh in.
A conceptual design is expected this spring.
The project will cost between $20 million and $40 million dollars. Construction is expected to begin in 2015 with an estimated completion date in 2016.
