The fresh snow is keeping crews busy in St. Paul as they work on the track of the Red Bull Crashed Ice Championship.
The national shootout started Thursday afternoon. Athletes raced down the course to qualify as one of the fastest 32 athletes advancing to other rounds.
It's an impressive course filled with hills, twists and turns. It takes quite the athlete to be involved in the sport, ice cross downhill.
Reed Whiting is one of six U.S. athletes competing in the world tour of Red Bull Crashed Ice. He stopped by the KSTP studio to talk more about it.
Events for Red Bull Crashed Ice start at noon Friday. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the first race kicks off at 6:45 p.m.
