Twins Win First Spring Training Game

The Minnesota Twins started their 2014 campaign off with an 8-2 victory Friday over the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox. The Twins scored three times in both the fourth and fifth innings as Brian Duensing got the win.

Eleven Twins players had a hit. The Red Sox were held to five hits.

Mike Pelfrey worked two innings, allowing just one hit. Samuel Deduno also worked two innings and recorded three strikeouts.

The Twins will host the Red Sox Saturday at Hammond Stadium.
