MnDOT is planning a construction project on east and westbound I-94 between County Road 18 and Highway 25 in Monticello.
MnDOT spokesman J.P. Gillach says the project is weeks away from kickoff. "This project is starting in April, scheduled to start April 1st," he said. However, that start date could be pushed back based on soil conditions.
The project will reconstruct and re-pave I-94 in both directions between County Road 18 and Highway 25, upgrade ramps and signals, and add an auxiliary lane westbound between CR 18 and Hwy. 25.
Gillach says the project is scheduled to run through the summer, "We hope to have 94, all the new lanes, in September, October at the latest."
