A final contract for the new Lowertown Ballpark has been finalized.
The City of St. Paul and Ryan Companies announced Thursday the $43.8 million deal finalizes construction documents and pay for labor and materials.
The fixed sum contract sets the price for the city. Any other costs will be covered by Ryan Companies.
“The execution of this contract puts us one step closer to bringing baseball to Lowertown and includes important safeguards that protect St. Paul and Minnesota taxpayers,” said St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman.
Construction of the ballpark will begin in the spring and the new home for the St. Paul Saints is set to open in 2015.
The project is expected to create 500 full and part-time jobs. Learn more about the project here.
