Former Carolina Panthers cornerback Captain Munnerlyn will meet with the Minnesota Vikings Wednesday night, a source tells KSTP Sports. Munnerlyn, 25, has spent his entire five-year career with the Carolina Panthers. He is expected to have dinner with members of the Vikings coaching staff Wednesday and meet with the team on Thursday.
The Vikings finished last in pass defense last season, so Munnerlyn could prove a valuable asset in the secondary. He's described as a player who fits Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman's personality.
Munnerlyn had a career-high 74 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year. Five of his career seven interceptions have been returned for touchdowns.
