The Anoka girls basketball team huddles before their State Quarterfinal game against Eden Prairie
When it's a 4-seed and 5-seed, you expect a close game - and that's exactly what Eden Prairie and Anoka offered in their Class AAAA Girls Basketball State Quarterfinal before Eden Prairie pulled away late to win 67-57.
The game saw eight ties - the last with 7:24 to go had the game square at 47-47 - before Eden Prairie closed out with a 20-10 run to earn the win.
Eden Prairie helped their cause by converting 21 Anoka turnovers into 33 points.
Junior Martha Kuderer led the Eagles with 19 points. Senior Jayla Mayes-Jackson added 18.
Ashley Bray and Kyrah Fredenberg each scored 14 for the Tornadoes.
Eden Prairie advances to play 1-seed Eastview in the AAAA Semifinals on Thursday.
