Lakeville North huddles before their Class AAAA Girls Basketball Quarterfinal against Centennial

In what seed-wise can be regarded as a sizable upset, Lakeville North's incredible winter sports season continued with their 69-52 upset of 2-seed Centennial in the Class AAAA Girls Basketball State Quarterfinals.
North built a sizable first-half lead, aided by Centennial shooting just 7-26 (27%) in the first half.
But Centennial cut the North lead all the way down to just two points with nine minutes to play. But the Panthers pulled back ahead late, ultimately winning by 17.
For the game, North outshot Centennial hitting 25 of 46 FG's (54.3%) compared to the Cougars' 17 of 57 (29.8%). North also outrebounded Centennial 43-24.
North was paced by junior MacKenzie Denk's 21-point perfromance. Senior Jessica Meidl recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Centennial was led by Jill Conrad's 18 points.
Lakeville North advances to Thursday's Class AAAA Semifinals.
The upset continues a remarkable run for Lakeville North this winter sports tournament season: Panthers gymnastics and swim teams participated in the state tournament; the Girls Hockey team made the Final Four; Boys Hockey were State Runners-up; Boys Basketball earned a dramatic State Championship.
