The University of Minnesota women's basketball team heads to Brookings, S.D., for a Thursday night matchup with South Dakota State in the third round of the WNIT.
The Gophers (22-12) are coming off a 77-70 win over SMU on Sunday at Williams Arena. The Jackrabbits (24-9) won the Summit League regular season title with a 13-1 conference record, but was upset by South Dakota in the conference tournament.
South Dakota State has defeated Butler and Creighton in the first two rounds of the WNIT.
Junior guard Rachel Banham suffered a right foot sprain during the Gophers win Sunday and is questionable to play. Head coach Pam Borton said she plans on having the Big Ten Conference's leading scorer available.
Minnesota is 1-4 all-time against South Dakota State, the lone win coming in 1978.
