After nine months away, a small group of Minnesota National Guard members returned home Friday afternoon.
Nine members from Detachment 39, Operational Support Airlift just finished their deployment in Kuwait. They provided air transportation for people and cargo as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the National Guard, they flew 424 missions, logged 1,844 hours of flight, and hauled more than 1,600 passengers and 79,000 pounds of cargo.
The soldiers were welcomed back at the Minnesota National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility in St. Paul at 2 p.m. Friday.
