Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men suspected in an armed robbery Thursday morning at a SuperAmerica gas station in Fridley.
According to the Fridley Police Department, the two suspects, who were armed with guns, entered the store around 5:30 a.m. at 5667 University Ave. Police said they ordered the employees on the ground and demanded one open the cash drawer.
Before the suspects left the store, they fired a single round into the store window, police said. It is believed they fled the area on foot, police said.
Police gave the following descriptions of the suspects:
Fridley police said they are speaking with New Brighton officers to see if there is a connection with a gas station hold-up on March 28.
In that incident, two black males, armed with handguns, went into the gas station at Silver Lake Road and West River Road E in New Brighton and demanded money around 5:45 a.m. The men appeared to be in their twenties and were taller than 5’ 10” in height.
The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money and fled in an unknown direction.
Both cases remain under investigation by the Fridley and New Brighton Police Departments, Anoka County Crime Lab and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Fridley police at 763-427-1212.
