The first time I saw a full episode of “Little House on the Prairie” was when I first started dating my wife.

My wife really liked the show a lot, and we watched an episode of “Little House on the Prairie” together one evening, and I really enjoyed it and thought it was great.  I do have to admit I was hooked on it.

I really liked the characters and thought that they were very interesting.  I also liked how each episode was very emotional.

“Little House on the Prairie” first aired in 1974 and lasted nine seasons.  It starred Michael Landon, Melissa Gilbert, Karen Grassle, Melissa Sue Anderson, and Lindsey and Sidney Greenbush.

This past week, I received a review copy of Liongate Home Entertainment’s “Little House on the Prairie Season One Deluxe Remastered Edition” on Blu-ray.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the “Little House on the Prairie’s” premiere pilot movie, and to celebrate, the entire first season has been digitally remastered in 1080 HD and looks amazing.  It looks actually better than it did when it first aired on television 40 years ago.

In this great collection, you get all 24 episodes and each one has been restored and remastered.  They are also complete and uncut, just as they originally aired.  The pilot movie is also included, so you can see how the Ingalls family made its way to Walnut Grove.

Plus there are some really great special features that are included that are really great to watch.  The extras include:
 - Original screen test featuring Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert
 - 40th Anniversary Documentary: The “Little House” Phenomenon Part One - A Place in Television History

I really thought the 40th anniversary documentary was awesome, because it features interviews with the cast and crew of “Little House on the Prairie.”  I learned a lot about the show, and it was fun to see what the actors looked like now.

The thing that I really enjoyed the most about watching “Little House on the Prairie” is that it’s a great show to watch with the entire family.  Each episode has a wonderful message, and you can talk about it afterwards.

I really enjoyed watching Liongate Home Entertainment’s “Little House on the Prairie Season One Deluxe Remastered Edition” Blu-ray.  The episodes look and sound great, and you get all 24 episodes uncut.  I really thought that it was awesome that the pilot movie was included.  The bonus features are very interesting and fun to watch.

Like I said earlier, “Little House on the Prairie” is a great show to watch with the entire family.  It is a good clean show that teaches us about family morals.

If you are a fan of “Little House on the Prairie” I would highly recommend that you check out this great 40th anniversary deluxe remasted edition.

“Little House on the Prairie” is not rated.
