A Stillwater summer tradition is back open for the season, and is expanding to St. Paul.
Nelson's Ice Cream handed out its first cone at noon Sunday.
Plenty of people were ready to see the store open. Nelson's was supposed to open Saturday, but its Facebook page says they had to delay it because of a delivery mix-up.
"(It's) finally warming up and getting a chance to do one of the better things about summer," said John Vranyes of Hugo.
Nelson's plans to open a second location near the corner of Snelling and Randolph avenues in St. Paul, in the old Palumbo's Pizzeria.
It'll have both indoor and outdoor seating, along with 45 ice cream flavors.
The new Nelson's opens for business on May 17.
