This is the time of year when many homeowners get to work on home improvement projects, some with the intent of making their home a better sell.
Angie Hicks, founder of Angie's List, has advice to help you avoid home improvement disasters.
First, be selective on the projects you tackle if you plan to sell your home; don't over-invest and only improve areas of your home that will help the re-sale value.
Make sure to hire a reputable contractor.
Finally, be careful if you want to add a pool, and make sure the investment will really pay off.
