After a month of investigations, no criminal charges will be filed in connection to a near-drowning incident at St. Louis Park Middle School that killed a 12-year-old boy.

Abdullahi Charif was found at the bottom of a pool at the school just before 9 a.m. on Feb. 27. He died two days later at Children's Hospital in St. Paul.

According to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, there is not enough evidence to file charges against the school, teachers or anyone who was in the pool area at the time of the incident.

The St. Louis Park School District launched an internal investigation into the near-drowning and the teacher on-duty was placed on administrative leave.

Attorneys for Charif's family are asking anyone who may have information that has not been interviewed to come forward.
