SUV Hits Bicyclist in St. Paul, Man Remains in Critical Condition

A 51-year-old Minneapolis man remains in critical condition after an SUV hit him while he was riding his bicycle in St. Paul.

Police say David Wuest was biking near the intersection of Snelling and Summit avenues around 7:30 a.m. when he was hit. The SUV driver called 911.

Cmdr. Steve Frazer says the cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Frazer says the events leading up to the accident are unclear. The SUV driver has not been taken into custody and it is unknown how many people were in the car at the time of the incident.

Both the St. Paul police and fire departments assisted at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
