The Minnesota Wild are back in the Twin Cities Monday for Game 3 of the NHL playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche.
To mark the big game back home Gov. Mark Dayton has declared Monday “Go Wild Day."
Dayton plans to wear his Minnesota Wild jersey to work Monday and encouraged others to support the team by wearing its colors. Dayton is an avid hockey fan and was an All-State high school goalie in Minnesota.
Monday’s game is at 6 p.m. and the Wild have to step up their game after losing their first two games against the Avalanche in Colorado.
Before the game, there will be a pre-game party for fans, which starts at 4 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center outside of Gate 2.
Events include live music, a photo booth, face painters and NHL Alumni will be available to sign autographs.
Businesses are expected to cash in on all the visitors for the game. Adam Johnson of visit St. Paul said the games could bring a $3.3 million impact to the area based on data from other cities.
Game 4 is Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center.
