The Vikings have a voluntary mini-camp this week at Winter Park -- emphasis on "voluntary" with a new coaching staff. It's the first chance players have to impress the new regime in more than the classroom.

"They are learning," head coach Mike Zimmer said at a Thursday morning news conference. "It’s a process for them. It’s a lot of new things, new terminology, new calls, I’m assuming they are being coached differently, I know I’m coaching them probably like they haven’t been coached before. I think all of that is new for them. I’ve been very impressed with a lot of the guys and with a lot of guys it’s slower to pick up."

Players who sat out or who were limited with injuries: left tackle Matt Kalil, defensive tackle Linval Joseph, defensive end Corey Wootton, and receivers Lestar Jean and Rodney Smith. Safety Andrew Sendejo was the only player not on the field.
