The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will travel to Wake Forest as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this coming season. The Gophers and Demon Deacons will play on Tuesday, December 2 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Minnesota and Wake Forest have played seven times in a series that dates back 60 years. Each team has won three games, the latest a Gophers' 73-58 win in the opening round of the 2006 National Invitation Tournament at Williams Arena.
The Gophers are 7-8 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge after winning their last three matchups. Since it began in 1999, the ACC has won the challenge 10 times compared to just three for the Big Ten Conference. There has been a tie the past two seasons.
This year's competition will feature Big Ten newcomers Maryland and Rutgers and ACC newcomer Louisville.
