Minnesota Twins pitcher Mike Pelfrey has been placed on the 15-day Disabled List, the team announced Saturday. Pelfrey is 0-3 this season, including a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

The move is retroactive to May 2.

Pelfrey gave up five runs and seven hits and walked three in four innings for the Twins in a 9-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of a day-night doubleheader on Thursday.

He looked uncomfortable in the 40-degree weather to start the game, squandering an early 2-0 lead for the Twins.

The Twins recalled infielder Danny Santana from Triple-A Rochester.

Pelfrey signed a two-year, $11 million contract with the team prior to the season.
