Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer will not be in the lineup against the Cleveland Indians on Monday.
Mauer left Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles because of muscle spasms in his lower back. He was not on the lineup card Monday afternoon for the Twins, who begin a seven-game road trip against Cleveland and Detroit.
In 29 games this season, Mauer is hitting .296 with two home runs and 11 RBI. He made the switch to first base last offseason after spending his first 10 seasons at catcher.
