Minnesota Wild head coach Mike Yeo addressed the media Thursday to reflect on the season and thank the fans for their support.
The Wild advanced to the Western Conference semifinals against the Chicago Blackhawks in Yeo's third season.
There's no question the Wild took a step forward this season. Yeo said he feels he's improved as well.
"I do feel that I've grown as a coach, and I know that a big part of that is a desire and a hunger to get better as a coach," he said. "That still exists and I know I have to get better."
Yeo remained realistic, saying his team will have a tough time in what he calls the best division in the NHL, the Western Conference's Central Division.
A reporter asked Yeo about how he received Chicago Blackhawk forward Patrick Kane's compliments to the Wild in the handshake line after Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals.
He responded by saying he took the kind words as a compliment to the entire team, and agreed with Kane that Minnesota does have "a hell of a team."
