Kayakers and canoeists are being advised to stay off Minnehaha Creek until further notice.
Officials with the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District say fast-moving water and high water levels caused by recent rains have created unsafe conditions.
District spokeswoman Telly Mamayek says some underpasses may not be passable in a kayak or a canoe.
She tells Minnesota Public Radio News that the creek may also contain debris that's been shaken loose by running water.
