The Wild will open the 2014-15 NHL season with a home-and-home series against the Colorado Avalanche, starting with the season opener at the Xcel energy Center on Thursday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m.

In one of the more remarkable stats surrounding the 12-year existence of the Wild franchise, they have never lost a home opener.  They are 11-0-2, including last season's win over eventual Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles.

The Wild are 7-4-2 all-time in season openers home and away.

The traditional New Years Eve game in St. Paul will not happen this season, replaced by a road game in Columbus.  The Wild host Toronto on January 2nd.

The Wild did not receive an outdoor game from NHL schedule-makers.

There will be two Saturdays in which every NHL team is in action - the first Saturday of the season October 11 and the final day of the season on April 11.

A highlight is two Saturdays when every team in the League will be in action, in 15 games. One is the first Saturday of the season, Oct. 11, and the other is the final day of the schedule, April 11.
