In 1984, the Prince and the Revolution soundtrack album "Purple Rain" was released by Warner Bros. Records.

To commemorate his hometown treasure, Congressman Keith Ellison of Minnesota, known for casually jamming out on his guitar in his office, took his musical talents to Vine for his personal rendition of the Prince song.
